Recently, I have been going to online animal shelters. I have notices that almost all the shelter have at least one Pit Bull in their care. I went to one shelter with about fifteen Pit Bulls and only about three other breeds of dogs. My sister has a Pit Bull named Maddison. She is almost three years old, and she is the sweetest dog ever. Durring the night she makes trips around all the bedrooms upstairs and takes turns leeping with my mom, my sister and myself. She loves to play with other animals. She goes to doggy daycare and has many friends. Maddison also gets along well with our family dog, Patches. She also likes to play with cats. My sister's friends have Pit Bulls also and they are sweet also. So, I ask, if Pit Bulls are so cuddly and nice when you meet them, why are there so many without hames?
Well, I think I have an idea. With all the news stories about dog attacks, especially by Pit Bulls, people are afraid to give them a chance. My grandmother doesn't konw that Maddison is a Pit Bull. When she sees the news stories seh says things like, " Their beautiful dogs, too bad they are bad tempered." or "One of those dogs would never live in my house," too bad one is. She is so afraid of the title "Pit Bull" that she doesn't even think that they could be as sweet as the one righ under her nose. When people see pictures of these animals in a shelter, they think "Oh they must have been mean and that's why they're there." It's too bad that most of them are there because people either move and can't take them with them, aren't ready toi have a dog, the puppy grows up and the cute babby look wears off and they don't want it any more,or as my sister expieranced when trying to find an appertment, landlords won't rent to someone with a Pit Bull just because of their reputation. Her friend was rented an appertment but when he was on the complex grounds he had to put a muzzel on the Pit Bull because the other residents were afraid of being bitten. The dog had had no past record of being agressive.
Some people do breed Pit Bulls to fight, be vicious, and attack, but those people have major problems (if you ask me).
I recently found out that the reason some Pit Bulls with no past record of doiung so suddenly snap. The problem is in their brains. As they grow, sometimes their brains can swell to an unhealthy size. Their brains then push against their skulls so hard, it may sometimes crack them. This is so painful that they just snap. It's kind of like getting really crabby when you have a bad headache. Only these are just animals. They don't know how to contain their emotions like humans do. The condition could be worsened in a hous with loud children . This could increse the headache. That is why so many children are bitten .
This is all I have to say on the subject right now. So untill next time, don't judge animals or peole before you know them.
